Small Business and Entrepreneurial Pricing
OK, One of the first questions that folks ask is how much. Even if they don’t ask it is foremost on their mind so I am going to try and explain my approach.
The first thing to mention is that PixR.me specializes in Small Business Video or combination Photo-Video productions primarily for companies or individuals that have definite goals and that are trying to move their business or career forward. The proverbial “Staying ahead of the curve”. Scenarios included but not limited to are Product showcasing, Service showcasing, Training tapes, Demos, General Introductions and Walk-through s. That being said let’s talk about a few pertinent things that will make your life easier and will help me to focus on what is best for you. (My origins) Remember that not all production / marketing techniques are created equal and small businesses are often under educated on the What, Where, When and Hows of obtaining, making and presenting a media production. So lets talk about the components of a production. You should have a plan, a storyboard or a design in mind that will capture a percentage of your target audience. This often overlooked step is critical to a successful high end production and is really very easy to accomplish when you have a starting point, good ideas and a goal. If you’re a little shaky on that I can provide coaching, offer suggestions or just do it for you as seems to be the preference of many business owners. Let me add that in the case of first-time customers and more importantly customers that leave it mostly up to me, I have several corporate sponsors and champions of small business that will cover half of your cost if needed, not if you are just being cheap, but if you really need help. We don’t want anyone to be left out of this new wave of opportunity and have designed this phase of our relationship to be easy and productive.
Cost components in building your showcase might include: Travel, Set up, Staging, Shooting time, Editing, Rendering, Hosting, Converting video to prints, Converting prints to video, Voice-overs, Photography and a bunch of other things that you may not have even heard of. All $50.00/ hr, or $25.00 per when qualified.
Bottom line pricing (that’s cut the bull to some of you) for the average local shoot is $200.00 /min. of completed video, $100.00 /min. when promotions apply. Please ask!
Now that’s cheap!! about 1/10th of big box productions but what the heck, I am pro-tired and work when I feel like it.
Costs for above and beyond items like coaching, design time and other individualized work are: $50.00 hr. if we are not producing your Video, $25.00 if we are or you are sponsored by one of our champions or qualify for a promotion.
Photography is $5 to $25 per digital shot depending on type and quantity. Prints, posters and promotional materials are available (please ask for a quote).
Now you have heard me mention sponsors several times and if you are in the position to do so, You may also be interested in being a sponsor and that’s great. There are many reasons for being a sponsor, tax deductions probably being the least of your worries as a small business but helping others while spreading your message around isn’t a bad reason either. Have you ever been in a coffee drive through and when it was your turn to pay the barista says “your all set, the guy in front of you bought your coffee” I have and its a great feeling. Now imagine having his information on your cup as well. Would you be inclined to contact him to give thanks?
